AJ Hustins - Operations Manager
AJ has over 30 years’ experience in manufacturing and business management. Originally from Nova Scotia, AJ grew up on a farm and studied agricultural business. He moved to Vancouver Island 20 years ago switching his focus to the construction sector in land development, concrete, then structural precast. Seeing business thrive is a real passion of AJ’s. His overall business experience includes operations, sales marketing as well as social media communications. He has also been a well know volunteer in Nanaimo on multiple boards including the Vancouver Island Construction Association, the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce and the Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation. AJ has 2 grown daughters and is an avid outdoorsman enjoying gardening, hiking and camping.
Chad Zimmerman - Technical Manager
Chad’s passion is Technology and Manufacturing. With Diplomas in Architectural and Mechanical Drafting, Certified Lean Greenbelt, and Business Management from BCIT, Chad was looking for a company to grow with him. Since joining SCS in 2007 Chad has completed his Bachelor of Commerce from Royal Roads University. Chad’s business and technology background make him a perfect fit for Technical Manager of SCS. Chad enjoys spending time with his family, at the family cabin and partaking in anything related to the outdoors.
Paul Dunbavin - Sales Manager
Paul grew up and graduated high school in Edmonton, AB. Upon graduation he furthered his education by taking an Engineering Design and Drafting Technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. After taking a Customer Sales Representative (CSR) position with a hazardous waste and recycling company he developed a passion for sales. Over the next few years he progressed from the ground floor to handling National accounts based on performance. He then decided to round out his business understanding by moving into a leadership role managing all activities for a large multi-national corporation on Vancouver Island. In the following years this progressed to managing multiple branches in British Columbia and then into a Regional Manager role for Western Canada. Paul’s hobbies include running, travel and sports.
Steve Warman - Inside Sales
Steve grew up in Fermuese Newfoundland. At 13 years of age he moved to Edmonton Alberta where he attended Holy Trinity high school. He then moved to Nanaimo and attended Malasapina University where he was a Theatre major with a minor in Education. During his time at VIU, he took a part time job selling products and discovered his love of sales and connecting with people. Steve has gained valuable experience in sales management and sales training working for progressive companies like Microsoft and Telus. His passion for education and personal development led him to attend the University of Victoria in 2013 to complete his Certification in Adult & Continuing Education. Steve has a side gig as a DJ on weekends and has a real love of music.
Ankur Singh - Mechanical Designer
Ankur grew up in India, where he completed his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering in 2015. After working for a year in the manufacturing industry as a 3D designer, Ankur moved to Canada to do Master’s degree from UBC. Designing is his passion and Ankur strives to improve the designing process. As a hobby, he loves doing photography and has a huge collection of coins. He enjoys listening to music and watching cricket.
Prithpal Panesar – Mechanical Designer
Prithpal has over 10 years of experience in the field of manufacturing and design. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering from VJTI, Mumbai, India. During his work tenure in India, he worked in the field of sheet metal forming and fabrication. He has extensive experience in designing sheet metal products conforming to national and international standards. He has worked in all the processes involved in the “New Product Introduction cycle” including process optimization and design & set-up of work stations. He is an avid runner, soccer and cricket player and enjoys all outdoor activities.
Kailey Petersen – Administrative Assistant
Kailey is the friendly voice answering phones at our office. She grew up all over BC and Alberta. When she turned 18 Kailey moved to Alberta to continue her education and gain more experience in the oilfield industry. After graduating high school Kailey took on multiple jobs in administrative and customer service roles, spending the next 7 years in Alberta. Kailey decided to move to Nanaimo in 2015 to be closer to her family, and to start a more adventurous lifestyle on Vancouver Island. Later on Kailey continued her studies at Vancouver Island University. She enjoyed being able to engage with, and learn from people from all around the world. Kailey is a volunteer at the Nanaimo SPCA, she enjoys road trips, animals, surfing, and partaking in anything outdoors.
