Chad Zimmerman - Operations Manager
Chads’ passion is Technology and Manufacturing. With Diplomas in Architectural and Mechanical Drafting, Certified Lean Greenbelt, and Business Management from BCIT, Chad was looking for a company to grow with him. His background in CAD and Lean Manufacturing has led him to SCS, where he has thrived for the last 6 years. Since joining the SCS team in 2007 as a CAD Designer, Chad has progressed his way through Production, Sales and Marketing to rest at Product and Business Development Manager. Chad enjoys spending time with his family at the family cabin and partaking in anything outdoors.
Chris Nudd - CEO- Hazelwood Group
While growing up in Vernon BC, Chris always had an interest in Entrepreneurship and Accounting. He pursued these interests by completing his Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurship from Royal Roads University in 2005 and his Certified General Accountant designation in 2009. Through his time at Royal Roads Chris was able to write the business plan for K2 Stone (Hazelwood Group Company) along with a group of his peers. Subsequent to completing this and graduating, Chris joined K2 as a junior accountant in 2006. While Chris’s role has shifted to being the CFO for the Hazelwood Group, he is still actively involved in K2 and now SCS. Chris has recently become a full time Nanaimo resident with his wife and three kids.
Paul Dunbavin - Sales Manager
Paul grew up and graduated high school in Edmonton, AB. Upon graduation he furthered his education by taking an Engineering Design and Drafting Technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. After taking a Customer Sales Representative (CSR) position with a hazardous waste and recycling company he developed a passion for sales. Over the next few years he progressed from the ground floor to handling National accounts based on performance. He then decided to round out his business understanding by moving into a leadership role managing all activities for a large multi-national corporation on Vancouver Island. In the following years this progressed to managing multiple branches in British Columbia and then into a Regional Manager role for Western Canada. Paul’s hobbies include running, travel and sports.
Giorgio Overeem - Senior Designer
Giorgio grew up and graduated from high school in Nanaimo. After completing the welding program at Malaspina College he embarked on a 5 year stint in the gold mining industries of the Northwest Territories. Returning to school he received a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and began a career in the design and production of oilfield transportation equipment. It was during this time that he was introduced to the Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement style of manufacturing. Certified as a Lean Black Belt, Giorgio takes pride in spreading the Lean message and working with the office and production teams at SCS to continuously improve their product line.
Nicole Padula – Administrative Assistant
Nicole is the friendly voice answering phones at our administrative office. She grew up in Abbotsford BC, after graduating high school Nicole attended post-secondary training for Tourism & Hotel Management. Upon completing her studies she began working in the administrative field, gaining experience from many different employers.Later on Nicole continued her studies at the University of the Fraser Valley, completing a program in bookkeeping. Nicole and her significant other decided to move to Nanaimo with their dog Blue, to start a more relaxed lifestyle on Vancouver Island. After moving to Nanaimo Nicole started working at SCS, where she has become an essential part of our administrative team.
